Wow, we have had a busy couple of weekends!! First we celebrated Addison Marie's (my niece) second birthday, then it was my nephews (aka baby boy Lopez) baby shower, and of course the La Jolla Farmers Market. Princess Addison enjoyed a Shrek theme party, because in her 2 yr old mind there is nothing better in life than Shrek and Princess Fiona. Baby Boys theme was an All American Sports theme and included a concession stand packed with fun-sweet treats, yummy tailgating food, nacho bar (mmm), bubble gum machines, and ended with delicious Sprinkles cupcakes :-) Now the countdown is on for Baby Boy to make his grand entrance!!
So spring arrived, and Lizzie's Baby has been busy preparing for all our exciting events coming up. We are thrilled to be a part of a new Farmers Market starting this Saturday April 2, it is in South Park and will be held every Saturday from 8-12.......if you are a local San Diegan please stop by and show your support for all the local farmers and crafters, we can't wait!!!! Also, stay tuned for more 411 on what fun Spring boutiques we will be participating in.
I end with yet another preschool story...thought you would enjoy :) A 2 1/2 yr. old boy arrives to my center bright and early at 7:30am, we hadn't seen him for a while and usually he is very quiet when he first arrives. This time was different, he walked in with a huge smile and I knew something was up....his dad said "tell her what you do now," 2 1/2 yr. old replies......"I go pee!!!!" I of course Congratulate him on his new accomplishment. A couple hours later I over hear one teacher say to another "what is that puddle on your floor that the kids are standing in???".....guess our 2 1/2 yr. old doesn't always make it to the toilet....oops :)
Have a fabulous week!!!

Working in a Preschool....
Working in a preschool you hear and see all kinds of interesting things!! Today, in particular, a situation has stuck in my mind and I thought I would share. I was sitting at my desk and I was distracted by the sound of one of our preschool children crying. I decided to take a walk back into the classroom and investigate....I asked the teacher what was wrong and she said she had tried to ask the child several times but he won't tell her. I approached the little boy (3 1/2 yrs.), bent down next to him and asked him what was wrong-he didn't answer, I tried again-no answer. So I then asked him if he was sad, he shook his head NO (still crying), I asked him if he needed a hug, he again shook his head NO. I then noticed he slowly turned and looked behind him and the only thing I saw back there was the tray of snack that had just been brought from the kitchen so I asked him, are you hungry-and sure enough he shook his head yes!! I hurried and cleaned the table, so relieved we had figured out the crying, and I immediately served him up a warm grilled cheese. As I walked back to my desk and sat down I overheard, more than one time, the little boy say "I am so happy", and when the teacher would ask why he responded "because I have a full belly"..........i just sat back and smiled :-) I will leave you with one of my favorite quotes by Shel Silverstein, enjoy.......................
“Listen to the mustn'ts, child. Listen to the don'ts. Listen to the shouldn'ts, the impossibles, the won'ts. Listen to the never haves, then listen close to me... Anything can happen, child. Anything can be.”
